Well.. need ur opinion for this question:

"If you could take a class from any historical figure(s) -living or dead
- Who would it be? Why? And what would the class cover?"

RADIOHEAD>>

by door15 @ 2006-12-05 - 07:20:17 pm

Been listening to a lot RADIOHEAD these days. Comforting and idiosyncratic. There's something about them that really is comfortably different. There songs have emotions and yet are genuinely imaginative.
These aren't tick-tock catchy pop tunes that all the bimbos and jerk offs listen to. It's artistic, in true sense. When I talk about Led Zeppelin or Floyd I feel the same.
The Powerhouse of emotion in "Fake Plastic trees" or the self-deteriorating "creep" they have a certain element that agrees with you.
"Paranoid Android" or "National Anthem" every song has its moods and imaginations.

Put on your ear-phones, switch off the lights, close your eyes and listen to Radiohead.
You just don't listen, you imagine, you see unseen colours, and move along the songs.
"Karma Police" or "No Surprises", you've to learn to appreciate them and once you do that, there's no turning back.

RADIOHEAD. That sums it. Like 'em. Love 'em. Hate 'em. You don't know shit, go back to your shitty pop music.

DESPERATE??

by door15 @ 2006-12-05 - 07:10:03 pm

There are varying degrees to desperation I can see. There can be any reason for that desperation. Despeartion can be of anything.
What does a person do when he/she's desperate? Try something that's really off hand!
Come up with things which that person hadn't dared to do.
Or simply drown oneself in misery and drink to death.
Desperation can KILL.
Desperation can RESURRECT.
There are many tales when characters gain a major epiphany through desperation.
Times when these characters are on the brink of total collapse.
Desperation can create never thought of confidence yet desperation if not controlled can be self-destructive!

WHY am I writing this?
Well, on an off hand comment, desperation can lead to something good..The toughest part is hanging on while in the phase of desperation.

AM I speaking this in terms of my experience?
Well, NO to be precise. But as I can see, everyone's desperate in their own ways. We just don't see it. Desperation is to mankind as happiness is to mankind. It's common!

WHY desperate?
Money, girl, fame, gadget, acknowledgement, acceptance. It can be anything. The need for human soul to feel complete varies widely but there's always that itchiness for something that " wish would have been true".

So..
There's really nothing one can do that much as to just control and live with it. Life's one hell of a FORGET-and-MOVE-on thing, so GET USED TO IT. If you were born with three-nipples, maybe that's just the way it's supposed to be. Being DESPERATE really does nothing.

Where I've been LOST: Obsessions over ARCTIC MONKEYS songs, Standardised Tests hell and then some MORE.

by door15 @ 2006-12-03 - 06:09:18 pm

Whew!
Been out for so long, its nice to finally calm things down.
From obsessions over Arctic Monkeys songs to Standardised Tests hell... been through a lot.
To name a few: IELTS, TOEFL, SAT I, fuckin' SAT IIs and heck so many bollocks over the tiresome application process.

And its not even over. Besides that been obsessed to Arctic Monkeys songs, can't stop singing "Mardy Bum" on guitars. Took out my old collection and RADIOHEAD and OASIS are as always on top of the CD shelf.
Wanted to listen to MUSE though haven't been able to find their CD here.

other than that, have heaps of papers over my desk.. still am stuck on the whole application essay thing.. what am I supposed to fuckin' write about in less than 500 words that could get me noticed!! Hehe.. seems funny of all the shitty drafts I've been through...culture thing, visit to old school, a morning run, watching the sun rise, comparison of life and Rock music, Politics that somehow shaped me...you name it.
All lies in that heap..and here I am starting with a blank paper again.
Heck..I know culture is my biggest selling point just dont have any idea how to write abt it.

After 4 standardised test and being in the middle of the PAINFUL application process, life seems a series of recommendation letters and test scores if thats to count by.

ADIOS!
(.."Fake Plastic Trees" is an emotional powerhouse")
