Millions of faceless faces around us.

by door15 @ 2006-08-24 - 05:34:57 pm

There are many kinds of people around. Many kinds. Just walking on the streets. Rambling on with their own lives. For them also we are among the "people". Normal people. Yet we may find many of them to be eccentric and at times even detestable. Rarely are strangers impressive enough for us to remember their faces after a minute or two.
Here we are walking on with our own lives, like a universe whose centre is fixated on us and we go through these million thoughts inside our heads. And there are those strangers besides us, among us, sitting, standing, walking and yet we percieve them as these faceless bodies around us. We dont always care. Let alone the fact that we notice them.
Faces come, faces go. They're of all shapes and sizes. Just walking in the busy Katmandu pavement, millions of faces walk around. All in their own little universes. Revolving around things they think are important. Revolving around their own versions and definitions of happiness and sadness.

Every person thinks that they are important in some way. Everyone thinks that they are special. That they are unique. That they are something really important. But the fact is, they are just among the million faceless people walking around. I know, I am.

I dont know what I am talking on about. I know it might just as well be gibberish. But when you just walk around with thousands of people in front, on sides and behind you. Thousands whom you've never seen before. Thousands who themselves have never seen you before. Thousands whom you cross by everyday yet dont even remember their faces. Thousands still who think they are kings of their own universes. A sole thought that crosses my mind is it all thats meant to be? Thousands of unrecognisable faces passing eachother everytime around and yet still so forgettable, without even a small hint of acknowledgement of their presence.

Is this it? Just another of the million plain faces around and a normal day in revolution of our own universes.

I know..I dont make sense. But so does millions of faces that walk around you everyday without ever knowing you were there.

..and the 5 songs of the day!!

by door15 @ 2006-08-21 - 07:57:38 pm

You know there is always times when the rockers set back, slow things down, showcase their emotions and do the most wonderful acoustic sets.
Well..Today's theme is those acoustic sets. Go with 'em. Slow things down. Jingle on a tune in your hollow guitar.

5.Name - Goo Goo Dolls.
4.Mr. Recordman - Ugly Kid Joe.
3.Lake of fire - Nirvana
2.Wish you were here - Pink Flyod.
1.Going to California - Led Zeppelin.

10 things I hate about her.

by door15 @ 2006-08-19 - 06:27:09 pm

10.I hate the way she replies in only short sentences.
9. I hate the indifference she shows sometimes.
8. I hate her weird friends.
7. I hate her stubborness about some things.
6. I hate for the way she always admires others in front of me, always.
5. I hate her ex-boyfriends.
4. I hate the way she abruptly hangs up everytime.
3. I hate her because of her mood-fluctuations.
2. I hate her when she doesn't care about what I think and just babbles on her own cause and effects.
1. I hate the way I can't Hate her for all that she does.

Boring long holidays..and some FAMOUS books.

by door15 @ 2006-08-18 - 02:31:54 pm

Well..well am on this long holiday which actually never seems to end. Hmmm...might sound like FUN. But it is NOT. I've got nothing to do. Some might be delighted by it. But after weeks and weeks of nothing u somehow tend to get bored.
So..there I am all bored up from the excessive music that I listen to throughout the day, first thing in the morning and last thing before going to sleep. I've finished up all the new movies on rent. I'm done by roaming around with friends, there aren't new places anymore. So heck am BORED UP.

To divert my mind. I plan to indulge into some of the MOST FAMOUS books which I've never read...and some Books which aren't famous or even heard of but are just great in their own respect.

Most of the time am the "summer novels" kinda person. Gobbling up through the whole "easy to read" ones. From the likes of Stephen King's works to the likes of The Da Vinci Code. All nice and easy to read. The kinds which you can understand even with your half-eyes shut.

This holidays anyhow am trying out for the literary greats...the ones that I often slept through. Anyhow...I planned why not to read stuffs that people have been talking about since decades. The ones that have in some ways remained as benchmarks in terms of literature.

So there I was in the library with this list of books that I've said to myself that I would read. It contained of the likes of Faulkner, Brontes and McEwans.

I got a few but I think they are a great start:
1.Jane Eyre - Charlotte Bronte.
2.Wuthering height - Emily Bronte.
3.The Great Gatsby - F. Scott Fitzgerald
4.Collected works of William Faulkner.
5.Amsterdam - Ian McEwan

Well..and theres this another book which is quiet very interesting. Its a translated book. The actual is in German. But no matter what, the translation is great. And the story just remain in your mind. Its a delightful read. Bernhard Schlink's "The Reader" translated by Carol Brown Janeway. An amazing book in its own respect. Its both compelling with sprinkle of humor in it. Its mainly of the connections between Germany's past and present and mainly of the relationship between the narrator and an older woman. Interesting though

Other ones that I've finished are "Man and Boy" by Tony Parsons which was a delightful book.

I loved Martin Amis's "The Rachel Papers".

And the one am on verge of finishing is "The Rule of Four" by Ian Caldwell & Dustin Thomason, its kinda like the GEEK version of Da Vinci Code. Where two highly intelligent guys Paul and Tom are on the verge of uncovering a deadly secret of a very Old book. Its a bit "intelligent" but interesting none the less.

Now lets see if I can finish up the listed 5 books above. I'd start with 'the great gatsby' and will end it up with a Bronte.

heh..Happy readin' people.
If there are some great books which you recommend are an absolute must and which can just catch your all attention then please mention 'em.
Am off to read now..

A very Late Epiphany

by door15 @ 2006-08-16 - 05:26:19 pm

I know this is very late...but sometimes you tend to realise a few things that you have known for years but yet quiet haven't known it at all. What I am babbering on about is: Living in OTHER'S EXPECTATIONS.
Its Shit! It is completely. "Why the hell would I ever want to live for someone else??" Heck thats what I realised today. Quiet an epiphany though.

They don't expect you to do this. They expect you to do that. They expect you to be that way.BOLLOCKS!!

I say...dont give a shit. From now on I will not. Except ofcourse in case of your parent's and realtive's expectations as in my case. OTHERS...get the hell away.

I mean..its OUR life we are living for crying out loud. Heck let them EXPECT...but dont restrain yourself from doing what you wanted to but took a step back because according to their minds you are a CERTAIN character whose ROLE you should always play.

Today I dont know why but I was just so frustated by all the pretence. And so from today I have taken up to giving shit when somebody expects something for their GOOD from you. Of Course am willing to do something good but fuck no if it changes me in a way that am not.

Why be something you are not or are willingly not to be. Why sacrifice your all for some dumb expectation of someone.

From now on I'll live my LIFE as I would like and ofcourse keeping basic things in mind like not SCREWING up my FUTURE but still the way I plan it to be and not what some people expect it to be.

heh. Strangley thats just what I am realising NOW!

questions on ROCK music...another quest...another mystery

by door15 @ 2006-08-07 - 06:18:53 pm

Has the song "Kashmir" by Led Zep got the greatest intro or is it the ever popular riffs of "Smoke on the water"??
Is "imagine" one of the greatest songs for what its lyrics says or is it the mysterious lyrics of "stairways to heaven"?
Why is it that Pink Flyod's "Time" is so unforgettable?
What is it about Van Halen's "Jump"'s starting riff that makes it so "feel-good" type?
Why is Nirvana's "smells like teen spirit" the ultimate anthem...why is it that I don't get sick of this song even if I have heard it like a million times? How does it have the power to pump up my blood flow everytime I hear it?
Why does "Knocking on Heaven's Door" sound so good all the time even if its covered by almost all of the bands/artists?
Why is it that RHCP's "Under the bridge" is hummed by almost everyone?
How does Hendrix's "voodoo child" inspiers millions of people still to take a second look at theri guitars?
Why is Maiden's "Fear of the dark" melody sang like a national anthem by thousands and thousands of people?
What is it about The Beatles' songs that makes them so good?
What is it about Led Zep that makes everyone drenched in pure essence of rock?
What is it of Pink Flyod that brings out the nostalgia and total indulgence to music like no other?
What is it??
Black Sabbath-ish?? Iron Maiden-ish?? The Who?? The Rolling Stones?? The Doors?? Even Blur and Oasis??
What about these bands? What is it in them that they stand out from the rest of it all?? What is in their sound that makes them Gods? That makes Millions and billions of people sing along with what only a few guys play along?? What's in them that makes them seem invincible? What's in ROCK?? What's in the escalating pulse with every drum beats that seems to go in accordance to your heart beats??

heh..to all that I have asked or may have mentioned...I guess there's no answer to it...its just a feeling..a common feeling which everyone shares for that brief (normally 5-6 minutes) of music..the time span of music when everyone no matter bald, short, gay, straight, black, white or brown everyone seems to be on the same ground experiencing the same thing. The same spirit of ROCK in them... the spirit which bonds everyone and is often termed as Humanity.

Or is it that the answers to the questions are just so many...that even mentioning to them seems foolish... what if its like one of my favorite questions which nobody really answers: "Where does the sky end?? Has it any end?? If there's an end, what's beyond it?? How can anything not have an end?"

hehe...and the quest seems to go on and on..whether LOVE, SPACE OR ROCK...the quest just seems to go on...

To fly

by door15 @ 2006-08-06 - 05:47:06 pm

Sometimes...you look at the distant stars. You feel the cool breeze pass through you. You stretch out your arms as if you can fly, closing your eyes and theres a sense of happiness inside you. The silver gleam of the night sky and the cool breeze through your ears makes you want to fly above. Through the clouds. Flying above all. Touching the silver clouds and feeling them. Feeling the air all over your face as you move aimlessly forward with no hopes, fears or worries. You just feel happy. Like an inner light which radiates its bliss. You look through and the horizon seems endless. A big half-oval shaped sky all around you. Gusts of wind tingling all your senses and a feeling of weightlessness.
You seem invincible and away from all the troubles. You just circle round. Away from the constant worries that eats away your heart. Away from it all.
It brings a strength inside you. The strength which you never thought you had.
Its a sense of freedom. You can still feel the wind all over your body. You feel safe under the haven of the endless sky above. A vault. A haven. Silvery gleam of the moon and the stars like spotlights all aiming at you.
The clouds surrounding you to form a stage. Starry spotlights from everywhere in the sky. The Earth beneath. A sense of calmness inside you. Calmness of an achievement. Flying through under the safety of vaulting starry sky above and the earth beneath.

Questions on Love.

by door15 @ 2006-08-03 - 05:39:14 pm

Why do people love? Is it fair to be madly in love with someone? Is it fair to make someone your everything?
Why does love happen? What is it for? Just a momentary feeling that sparks some unknown combination of chemicals inside the brain that brings with it some sort of happiness and a sense of excitement which people can die to get for just a few moments of it.
Is it fair? Love with it brings pain, madness and unreasonable addiction. Why is it that someone can die for a person?
What is love? Is it sensible to this practical world where pre-nuptual agreements are a must-do. Is it love or just the myth of it?
Does love even exist? Has anyone ever experienced it? Even if they might have, is that experience totally based on what we are fed on from all those Hollywood movies and the stories that we read? Or is it totally different from the movies??
How could a person ever know they are in love and aren't "Just attracted" or "infatuated" to that person??
What is love all about?
*sigh* and it leaves me wondering.
Yea I know... have been listening to a lot of slow numbers lately I guess...talking about love n shit like that... gotta change my records soon. Just thought of love and wanted to write on it. Thats it.Tomorrow I'll be ROCKING again.. maybe some Nirvana oughtta take this love thing out of my head?
