Oh.. what can I say... I wish I was born in the 70s. I wish I was the part of the "hippy-flower power" generation. Oh..jeez..I'd love to be in the era when all and everyone moved to the ecstatic beats of HARD ROCK. When the likes of Led Zeppelin, Pink Flyod and The Who all rocked the world. I wish I was the part of the "Teenage Rebel" hysteria.
From cute blond girls in long skirts to the funky hair-styles to the wild dance steps to an Elvis number..I'd die to be with them all.
When everyone listened to The Beatles and everyone had a keen fashion sense. The 70s is all that I'd dream to be in.
Not just the rock scene but all of the stuffs related to the 70s. I know I may sound insane but I dont like my 2000s era. I dont like the bustling HIP-HOP scene, am always confused of today's fashion sense (pimpin' and all that shit) and I dont like the way people have become today.
70s to me always seems like a cool era. Long hair, big collared shirts and those cool jeans.
Dammit 70s ROCKED!!
No wonder why I liked "That 70s Show" so much.
The seventies was when many legendary rock bands and all my favorites started, or hit their peak, including The Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Queen, AC/DC, Pink Floyd, U2, Black Sabbath, Aerosmith, Eagles, KISS, Rush, The Who, The Allman Brothers Band, The Doors, and Van Halen.
What more can I say whether it was the GODFATHER craze or the Elvis-the pelvis-presley's moves or those darn cute blond girls in skirts. 70s has a way of burning euphoria within me which no damn era can bring.
"I'd die to be born in the 70s".

To have appreaciated the 70's you would have to have been born in the late fifties/early sixties - like me!!

I will say thought that it wasn't quite as you imagine it. The bands you mention weren't as mainstream as you think. There was still a lot of crap in the charts back then.
I do agree that the music of that period was probably one of the most inventive periods in popular music. bands had the chance to experiment with recording techniques and musical formats which wouldn't be possible today.
Think of the things that bands like Pink Floyd, Led Zep, the Grateful Dead etc did in the studio. Nowadays band sare expected to conform to a certain style and if they want to sound like zep or floyd this can be done with the push of a few buttons.
I was lucky to see most of the bands on your list some of then at the City Hall in Newcastle some at huge venues like Wembley or Knebworth. I was lucky I guess - right place right time! Even then though I curse about not having been old enought to see the likes of Hendrix or the Doors - maybe one day they'll invent a time machine
