10 SONGS

by door15 @ 2006-05-31 - 05:11:09 pm

Well... putting out a songlist is one of the most difficult, most enduring, most organized and yet most enjoyable things...
well you have to have a genre first then the criteria then list the songs falling in that particular genre under that particular criteria. rank it accordingly and so on....

Being just plain LAZY or whatever you may call it.The 10 songs below are simply the ones roaming in my MIND now...no strings attached. But also with the reason why they are in my mind(some tunes never actually leave my mind, I've tagged 'em STICKY SONG:::

1.Dont Look back in anger - Oasis
Well..its one of those addictive tunes that just sets inside your brain and randomly keep reappearing in your mind.Kinda am singing to it right now.STICKY SONG.

2.War Pigs - Black Sabbath
I like the "generals gathered in the massesssss" especially the one done in the concert. And the bass part at the begining ...it haunts me everytime around. Also the "politicians hide themselves..." part.

3.Yesterday - The Beatles
I listened to this song a couple of weeks back after a long gap of a year or so.I had stopped listening to Beatles for a long time. But ever since I listened to my old collection a couple of week back; this song has never left my mind.In fact from the very first time I listened to Beatles I started out with this song. And the vocals keep playing on an endless loop inside my mind. Its just unexplainable.STICKY SONG

4.Heartbreaker - Led Zeppelin
It starts with the "dann dann dann da da dann"" on the guitars and thats all that takes. As soon as I think of that tune, the whole song just plays in my mind.Right till the flawless solo by Jimmy Page.

5.Wish you were here - Pink Flyod
Nostalgic...calming..soothing...those are the words that ring in with this song. The song is magical. Its the vocals that does wonders for me.LOL am singing out: "we're just two lost souls swimming in a fish pond year after year... ... ...wish you were here"

6.Losing my Religion - REM
Its the guitars...its the vocals...its the drums...its the lyrics...heck am confused. All I know is its a damn good song.Especially the lines from "Every whisper.. of every waking hour...I am choosing my confessions...."

7.Bitter sweet Symphony - Verve
Well.. to tell you the truth. Its not the whole song. But damn...who can get that sweet sweet, yea bitter sweet, tune of the violins that start the song..outta my head. Its addictive. The melody of those violins...definitely a STICKY SONG even if it might just be the violins.

8.Somebody to Love - Queen
Don't get me wrong. This song really is good.Though not that great as the others by Queen, but still it rings in my mind.Especially the "ooooooooh somebody...can any body find meeeee...somebody to love~~~" part.Nobody really can top Mercury's vocals.

9.Goodbye my Lover - James Blunt
Dont get me wrong again.I listen to all kinda songs. And James Blunt has been quite interesting to listen to with the whole piano thing. This song's chorus is definately catchy.

10.Layla - Eric Clapton
Wo..the guitars. definatley the guitars. An amazing song. And kinda is the right song to end this list with.It really melts your heart as the song ends.Damn could any song be more mellower?

Phew...am done. and what a ride it was.I definately liked the whole thing. It was like a journey for me.Travelling from song to song and with it a piece of life!

See you at the next list (yes...this one's am planning!)

Come up with your own STICKY SONGd let me know about it.
Till then.Happy Listenin'

Musings inside a dull BUS...and the lessons learnt

by door15 @ 2006-05-30 - 05:09:20 pm

So.. the scene is I was returning home from my University in a public transportation (i.e. the bus) and not the University's Shuttle. Normally I came by the University shuttle but today I took the public transportation following various consequences.Remember: that day I hadn't taken my CD player as I always did.
Okay so.. here I was heck bored inside the bus. The bus looked gray; or it was just the dull faces that were around me.I had tried earlier to read the "Time 100" issue but gave up after my eyes started burning. What worse was I to expect in a bus filled with bored and dozed off faces when suddenly Mr.Driverman decides to entertain us with his choice of music.
As the public buses are in this part of the world, you have these speakers on the rare and front part of the bus and it blares out whatever Mr.Driverman plays.
It started with the local news.It was normal for me till then. The ususal indifference.Never gave attention to local news. The turning point came when Mr.Driverman decided to play a tape of his.
As the speakers blared out...it was believe me ONE OF THE WORST songs that I've ever heard
I felt as if I was being chocked. It was a complete torture.I though well this song sucked what could be more worse... but I was proved wrong time and again...all the songs SUCKED in ascending order.
The only thing left for me was to put my head out of the window and shout "HELP..HELP!!". and by the way I tried closing both my ears...and I would've continued doing that..if I weren't looking that stupid.
Mr.Driverman provided me a few seconds of relief when he stopped the tape at the checkpoint. But I was to face another blow when he played some other tape and mind me it SUCKED even more than the first one..Song after song after song. All were a torture. The only thing NOW left for me was to Wail out and beg him to stop the torture.
But I was to RECIEVE A SHOCK yet again.
Suddenly out of the blue moon I hottie stepped into the bus.And mind me she was HOT!!She wore a simple red dress and had a light touch of red lipstick on her burning lips.As she entered the bus filled up with colour.A light breeze moved past her blowing her brown hair that filled up the whole bus with a heartmelting sweet fragrance.I was blown away.MY eyes were popping out of my head my mouth was wide open. And guess wat...out of all the free seats that god created the hottie sat just next to me.Filling my lungs up with the sweet fragrance. My eyes still wide and my mouth still open. The BAD songs forgotten and the dull faces?? well.. whose faces?
Well.....that would've made up a really interesting story.But sadly...reality bites.
I was actually dozing off in the whole "hottie-next-to-me-sequence" anyways..One way or the other I managed to escape the crap-songs-torture.
With the masterfully crafted uncanny ability I just opened my eyes when I reached my stop.I was happy to jump out of the bus.and trust me I have never been so happy about getting out of a bus in my entire 18 years on earth.
Anyways...I learned three important lessons:
LESSON1:Use Public transport only in emergencies.
LESSON2:Never forget your CD player on a long journey.
LESSON3:If all else fails.DOZE off!!Or expect a Hottie to show up next to you.and the chances for the latter things are well....you do the math.Thousands of buses...thousands of free seats...few hotties...a single free seat next to you!

the magical mystical tour

by door15 @ 2006-05-25 - 05:55:55 pm

It was a bit foggy outside. It was a bit chilly that morning. There was a light shower which occassionally hit window. Everything seemed silent.
I took out my old Beatles record that day. After all of excessive Black Sabbaths and Iron Maidens it was now time to calm things off.
It grew a little more cold as we started ascending the hilly roads. The sweet sweet melody of "and I love her" started playing as I gazed aimlessly through the foggy window at the mystical green hills surrounding us.
"love me do" got me tapping as I finally lip-synced "so pleaseee...love me dooo" The bus took smooth turns around the curvy way. The shower still continued and I was now looking at the cloudy sky when Paul poured his heart out in "Yesterday".I was kept mesmerized as it all started with "yesterday... all my troubles seemed so far awayy" the song interlaced every piece of emotion I had that morning and all I was left with was a hazy mystical feeling meshed with what mood was left with me.
It was pure pure nostalgic."Hey jude" took me to another world...I sang along. The bus suddenly took a violent turn. With it.."Yellow submarine" jingled its way around my head.
The bus now was moving down hill.It was catching up speed and the morning sun was showing its first rays."Help(..I need somebody)" got me tapping again as the bus rolled on.There was mystical euphoria attached to all the songs that were playing.
"You've got to hide your love away" was all that I needed to round it off.But "let it be" was the anthem and a prayer that aptly ended my journey and as unwilling and sorry I was to push the "stop" button as to snap back to reality from a "magical mystical tour" of supreme bliss.

Meaning of life.

by door15 @ 2006-05-23 - 05:16:48 pm

You may ask, what is the meaning of life? what is the meaning of existence? and like everything....there's always an answer to it.
But still...its the unknown element of life that makes it so mysterious and well worth of exploring. As its said, "...perfect understanding will almost certainly extinguish pleasure."

What keeping up with "TIME" can do to you....

by door15 @ 2006-05-19 - 05:30:44 pm

time..time..time.
controls us..sways us..makes us malleable..manipulates us...and god knows everytime f**ks us up (sorry for the language). anyhow..thats how things are.
The moment you wake up your eyes get fixed on the annoyingly pitchy table clock which blares out its six o' clock alarm. You get up.Eyes all swollen up.Your hair looking as if you had been hanged upside down all the while. You freshen up..come back to your room and look at wall clock ticking its 6:30 already...
as you get prepared and/or finish your previous night's work, you keep looking at your ticking watch. There's always deadline for everything.and You always seem to procrastinate it until the very end.You look at your watch again.Shit..its time to leave. You hurriedly get prepared.Probably wear the same crumbled up shirt and gulp down three pieces of bread at once (still looking at the few minutes before the time you are supposed to leave).More time is wasted as you keep chewing the bread that seems forever to gulp down. Hurriedly you try to swallow it with coffee.Shit. Burned your tounge again.
Damn..you are 5 minutes late already. You might miss your regular bus..and that would mean wasting up an hour or so in public shuttle.and that in noway is acceptible. You look at your watch again. You walk a little faster.a little more.now you start to run.
Panting you reach the bus stop. The tounge still feels funny.you burned up your taste buds yet again. The bus arrives a minute or two late.Phew..at least you made it.
you reach your destination.Finish up your work.and still the time matters.Lunch time comes. You fidget and tap your fingers on the table inside a busy restaurant.Damn.Why do all people have lunch at the same TIME?The waiter is busy taking everyone's orders.Your order comes late again.Shit.You have only 15 minutes to eat.And you never can eat fast.Anyhow you gulp down the spaghetti you ordered.Never really getting any taste. Thanks to the coffee burn.shit.five minutes.Time to swallow everything once more.Cautioned.You use water instead to swallow quickly.
You go to the pay counter.Give out a big buck.Shit.They dont have any change now.and now they are searching all over like crazy. You give up."keep the change" is all you can tell.
Oops! time to run again.
Tired and all battered up.You reach home.Make yourself a good meal. You look up at the clock in the kitchen wall.Damn.Your favorite program's about to start.Hurry up once again.
Hastened you take your half cooked meal and sit in front of the TV.The shows already on.You missed the first five minutes but thats okay. You slurp down your meal.Still it tastes of nothing. And it isn't completely cooked you groan. But you made it in time for your show, you console yourself.
Shows over exactly in time.Damn.Why couldn't it be of an hour more.
Back at your room. You have loads to do.You take out one among the stack.Start doing it forcefully. The phone rings now.Its an old friend. You keep talking of all the past memories. And laugh and talk along. What you dont realize is,that its 10:00 already.after you hang up.You look at that annoying digital clock again.Shit.10:30 you groan.
You sit in to work again. You take a long glance at the clock again.YAWN.Shit.How much is my efficieny now?you ask to yourself. You look at the pending stack again.
A rush of energy goes through your body for a split-second.Whatever it may be .I'll finish it.You think to yourself. You look at the clock again 10:15.Dammit.I'll drink coffee or even take a shower if necessary to keep myself awake, you think to yourself.
You keep writing.Until suddenly you find your head falling down and your eyes close, as if they weren't under your control. You open your eyes wide suddenly.Dammit,I can't fall asleep.you think to yourself. You stretch up a bit.Yawn again.and start doing the work.Suddenly everything turns upside down again. You eyes are all irritated. It hurts when you keep it open. You feel a little drunk. You can barely open your eyes.
Without thinking anything. You switch off that table lamp of your and jump straight at that comfortable bed of yours.Nothing feels good like sleeping, you say to yourself. As everything turns black.
You open your eyes.Shit scared.Head all banged up.Eyes swollen. You hair looking as if you had been hanged upside down all the while. Its the irritating digital clock again and its blaring the pitchy tune again. The tune which you have been so sick of listening to.Its six o' clock.Your eyes suddelny sees the stack of paper again.SHIT.shit.Pending work again. You get up.Look at your watch...and the cycle unfolds itself yet again.

You are stuck.and have to keep running.Time is pacing like never before.and its strangling you everytime, you fail to keep up with its speed.

What are you all waiting for?Time's running.
Get.set.and.Go.>>>>

Of Pyschedelic mood and music.

by door15 @ 2006-05-14 - 04:48:59 pm

Psychedelic according to Oxford Dictionary is (something) producing hallucinatory effect. Not always due to drugs. Music too can make you high. make you moody. and can melt you in that one-of-the-kind mood of yours, which you can't always define exactly.
The mood which shows various shades of colour, in which you imagine yourself running in an endless bright green grassy field while strong winds are blowing all over your body.I dont know how people can define this mood..but I sure can't put it like the way its running in my mind.
and theres the rainy weather with you inside your cozy cottage all warm and bundeled up...
anyways...whatever the scenario may be, I guess you've got the idea of what mood am exactly talking about.
So..talking of it and associating it with music has been a thing which I've done ever since childhood.
and moody music played in the right mood can add so much flavour in whole experience that its simply - MAGICAL.
PINK FLYOD..o..pink flyod those moody soulful guitar solos..the ever calming vocals and the music that takes you somewhere else to your imaginative utopia. the pyschedelic, out-of-the-world experience of THE DOORS... the high pitched amazing atmosphere of COLDPLAY...
Its a natural high. and its an amazing experience.
Psychedelic music (among rock genre) has proven to be much more than just a bunch-of-riffs thrown together. They are creating a world here. An atmosphere which in no place can exist. And an experience which no music genre can ever create.
Psychedelic as it is aptly named...Hallucinations and getting lost inside the moodiest state of mind.
I dont know if its just me...however its the uncanny ability of psychedelic music that it can effect your mood and really create an illusion.

GO ahead try it.am sure it'll take you for a ride.

Crumbled up leaves under blue coloured sky.

by door15 @ 2006-05-11 - 05:23:07 pm

Dark blue colored palette. Dry crumbled leaves.
Full moon sky. mysterious evening's breeze.
Wet brown eyes. dazed and confused.
Rivers go by. And the passion subdued.
Dancing in the rain. Crimson sunset sky.
Dreams of Hopes. Realities of despair.
A tear & A smile.
Loved spirits. Stretching arms to fly.
Drops of rain. Oasis of trust.
Withering red leaves from trees.
Answers still untold. Stars that are brightly shown.
In happiness we sing.
to rescue the soul. in suffering.
A smile on the face to despair it vies.
Crumbled up leaves under blue colored sky.
